Research in the Peterfy laboratory focuses on genetic determinants of metabolic traits in order to gain mechanistic insights into common metabolic abnormalities such as obesity, diabetes and dyslipidemia. A major emphasis in the laboratory is the role of ER homeostasis in the regulation of plasma triglyceride and cholesterol metabolism in the context of cardiovascular disease.
