Christie Y. Jeon, ScD

Assistant Professor, Medicine

Christie Younghae Jeon, ScD, is an epidemiologist by training and an assistant professor at Cedars-Sinai Division of Hematology/Oncology, and at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. The overarching goal of her research program is to develop strategies that will lead to earlier diagnosis of cancer at stages when interventions can effectively lengthen survival. Of specific focus is early detection of pancreatic, gastric and liver cancers, and understanding the role of diabetes and infections in these cancers. Dr. Jeon is also interested in the analysis of ‘big data’ to detect patients at high risk of recalcitrant cancers and to evaluate the potential repurposing of metabolic drugs to improve cancer outcomes. Dr. Jeon completed a bachelor of arts degree in molecular and cell biology at the University of California, Berkeley, a master of science degree in epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health and a doctor of science degree in epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in infectious diseases epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer prevention and control at UCLA.

Many of the physicians who have medical staff privileges to practice medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center are independent physicians, and not employees or agents of the hospital. These independent physicians bill separately for their services. You should contact your physician to determine their status and billing practices.
