The research of William Parks, PhD, focuses on the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in immunity, tissue repair and fibrosis. With an emphasis on models of lung and skin diseases, his lab has determined that individual MMPs control distinct, non-overlapping functions in antimicrobial defense, epithelial repair and differentiation, leukocyte influx and activation, and resolution of fibrosis.

Many of the physicians who have medical staff privileges to practice medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center are independent physicians, and not employees or agents of the hospital. These independent physicians bill separately for their services. You should contact your physician to determine their status and billing practices.
