Richard M Burwick, MD, has extensive clinical and research expertise in the area of preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. Dr. Burwick and his colleague Dr. Bruce Feinberg are recognized as the first in the world to treat preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome using complement blockade. Dr. Burwick also has expertise in complement disorders such as atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, and he specializes in blood, kidney and immune disorders in pregnancy. Dr. Burwick clinically performs high-level ultrasound, amniocentesis and CVS procedures. He is also an expert in cervical cerclage and pessary to prevent premature delivery. Dr. Burwick provides an individualized care plan for each patient and he provides high-risk consultation before, during or after pregnancy.
